personEmmett Till was murdered on August 28, 1955, in Money, Mississippi, at the age of 14. He was accused of harassing a white woman named Carolyn Bryant while in a grocery store with his cousins. Four days later, Carolyn's husband, Roy Bryant, and his half-brother, J.W. Milam, kidnapped Emmett Till from his great-uncle's home.
