Bevan denied harming the girl, claiming the family dog had pushed her down the stairs. He was convicted of the killing by a jury at Swansea Crown Court. His mother Sinead James, 30, was found guilty of allowing Lola's death to happen. She was sentenced to six years, but will only serve three before she can be released.

She sued him for battery in a civil case in New York's federal court, with jury selection due to start today. Trump, 76, has denied the claims and said that Carroll made them to boost sales of her 2019 memoir.

Kyle Bevan, 31, inflicted fatal brain injuries on two-year-old Lola James. The little girl suffered more than 100 injuries and died in hospital four days later. Bevan was jailed for life with a minimum term of 28 years for her murder. His mother Sinead James, 30, was found guilty of allowing Lola's death.
