Bills safety Damar Hamlin made a tackle on Cincinnati's Tee Higgins after a 13-yard gain to the Bills' 48-yard line. Hamlin initially stood up after making the tackle but quickly fell back to the ground. The 24-year-old Bills safety is currently in critical condition at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

With a slim majority, McCarthy could not afford to lose more than four GOP votes. Yet, twice, 19 House Republicans voted against him. This is the first time since 1923 that a speaker election is needing multiple votes.

organizationDamar Hamlin, 24, suffered a cardiac arrest in the first quarter of Monday night’s game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition. NFL announced on Tuesday that the Bills vs. Bengals matchup will not be rescheduled for this week.

the Buffalo Bills
organizationThe NFL announced Tuesday that the game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals will not reconvene this week. The game was suspended following Damar Hamlin’s collapse to the turf during the first quarter. Hamlin, 24, made a tackle on Bengals player Tee Higgins at 5:55 p.m. PT. After the play, he stood up briefly, before falling backwards onto the turf. He was given immediate medical attention on the field, including CPR.

Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest after a routine hit on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins in the second quarter. NFL suspended the game for around an hour before the decision was made to abandon the match altogether. Hamlin remains in a critical condition at University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center.
