The Mercury center was arrested Feb. 17 at Sheremetyevo International Airport near Moscow. The 32-year-old was arrested for cannabis smuggling at the start of the year. She had been entering Russia to play for UMMC Ekaterinburg during the WNBA off-season at the time of her arrest. The exchange did not include the return of another American, Paul Whelan, who has been jailed for nearly four years.

Ramesh Balwani, 58, was convicted in July of 12 counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud for his role in the failed blood-testing start-up. Theranos promised to perform more than 200 medical tests with just a few drops of blood despite its technology never working properly.

Viktor Bout, 55, was given a 25-year prison sentence by a U.S. court in 2012. Bout helped fuel civil wars across the world by supplying more sophisticated weapons. He was lured to Thailand in a Drug Enforcement Administration sting operation. Bout sold arms to warlords and rogue governments.

BJP seems to be winning big in the counting trends for the assembly elections in Gujarat. Early trends show the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is headed for a huge win. The BJP has ruled Gujarat continuously for 27 years.

BJP is set to get 50% vote share after the part is leading in over 140 seats in Gujarat. AAP Gujarat chief Gopal Italia is trailing from Katargam. The Congress won 40 of the state’s 68 seats, up 21 from its 2017 tally.

Anne Sacoolas pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving. The 45-year-old was driving on the wrong side of the road in Northamptonshire. She claimed diplomatic immunity to avoid arrest and was later revealed to be a spy for US intelligence. She was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for a year.

Bhupendra Patel on course for second straight win from urban constituency of Ghatlodia. Patel has so far received over 23,000 votes, compared to 3,800 votes polled by his Congress rival Amiben Yagnik. AAP candidate Vijay Patel is currently running third with around 2,100 votes.

The FTC voted 3-1 in favour of the complaint, which was filed in its in-house court. Regulators said Microsoft’s ownership of Activision could hurt other players in the $US200 billion gaming market. Microsoft has said that it is fully prepared to defend its acquisition in court.

Microsoft said in January 2022 that it would buy Activision for $68.7 billion. FTC says Microsoft has a record of buying valuable gaming content and using it to suppress competition. Meta Platforms Inc. has been unsuccessful in its bid to have the case dismissed.

The Federal Trade Commission has sued to block Microsoft’s $69 billion deal to buy Activision Blizzard. The FTC claims that the mega-deal would stifle competition in the lucrative video-game industry. If it cannot close the deal, Microsoft would owe Activision a $3 billion termination fee.
