Supreme Court rules that the Scottish parliament does not have the right to declare a referendum on Scottish independence. Judges ruled the Scotland Act does not permit Holyrood to legislate on the reserved issue. In the last Scottish independence vote, 55.3% voted no, with 44.7% voting yes.
