Pep Guardiola has signed a two-year contract extension with Manchester City. The deal will keep the Spaniard at the Premier League champions until 2025. His previous deal had been due to expire in seven months’ time. Guardiola joined City in 2016 and has overseen the most successful period in club history.

Supreme Court rules that the Scottish parliament does not have the right to declare a referendum on Scottish independence. Judges ruled the Scotland Act does not permit Holyrood to legislate on the reserved issue. In the last Scottish independence vote, 55.3% voted no, with 44.7% voting yes.
