Japanese drugmaker Eisai said Tuesday its experimental drug for Alzheimer's disease helped slow cognitive decline in patients. Lecanemab reduced decline in memory and thinking skills by 27% over 18 months in a trial of 1,800 people with early-stage Alzheimer's. Drug is designed to remove clumps of toxic beta-amyloid proteins that build up in the brains.
