Frank James, 62, was arrested on a street corner in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Police say James used a legal handgun in the attack that injured 23 people. James was arrested at least 12 times by the NYPD between 1984 and 1998 on charges ranging from burglary, possession of burglar tools, and criminal sexual acts. He was known to the FBI and was questioned in 2019 in New Mexico.

Russia tells Ukraine to 'watch out' after it captures pro-Kremlin politician. Viktor Medvedchuk, 67, was snatched in a covert raid by spooks from Ukraine's security service, the SBU, on Tuesday. He is the leader of the Opposition Platform for Life, Ukraine's biggest opposition party.

Liverpool gave up a 3-1 lead to draw 3‑3 against Benfica but progressed 6-4. Ibrahima Konaté header and a Roberto Firmino brace secured a date with Villarreal.

Johnny Depp accused of sexually assaulting ex-wife Amber Heard with a bottle. His lawyer branded her a 'compulsive liar' as their defamation trial begins. He is suing her for £32.4 million, while she is counter-sued for £76.7 million. A civil jury of seven members, plus four alternates, was selected Monday to hear the case.

In return, she is suing him for $100million (£76m) The hearing is taking place at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia.

The social media company's stock tumbled over 8% to less than $43 a share at 4 a.m. ET before recovering slightly. Musk recently acquired more than 9% of the company.
