SpaceX said dozens of its satellites were knocked out of orbit and destroyed after being hit by a geomagnetic storm. The cosmic storm struck just one day after a Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched the costly satellites into orbit. CNBC projected the firm could lose $50 million in the incident.

Peloton announced 2,800 layoffs, $800 million in cost cuts and the replacement of CEO John Foley with former Spotify and Netflix CFO Barry McCarthy. Foley, 51, founded Peloton in 2012 and previously served as the president at Barnes & Noble. The restructuring program is expected to result in approximately $130 million in cash charges.
