personMyanmar court sentences Aung San Suu Kyi over walkie-talkies, source says. Nobel laureate has been detained since February 1 when her government was ousted. She is on trial for nearly a dozen cases which carry maximum sentences of more than 100 years in prison.

personAhmaud Arbery, a Black man chased down and killed while jogging in their Georgia neighborhood in February 2020. Travis McMichael, his father, Gregory McMichael and neighbor William "Roddie" Bryan were convicted on a raft of charges, including felony murder. Defense attorneys have said they plan to appeal the convictions.

Judge denied any chance of parole for the father and son who armed themselves and initiated the pursuit. Ahmaud Arbery, 25, was out jogging in an adjacent, predominantly white neighbourhood when the trio chased and cornered him in pick-up trucks.
Aston Villa
organizationPhilippe Coutinho has joined Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season. The deal includes an option to buy the Brazilian midfielder. Coutinho will replace Jack Mings at Villa Park. The 29-year-old will be managed by former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard.
