Warnock, a 51-year-old Atlanta pastor, was named as the winner by Associated Press, CBC News, CNN, Edison Research and other major election monitors. The other race, between Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican David Perdue, remains too close to call.

personJacob Blake, 29, was shot seven times in the back by Officer Rusten Sheskey of the Kenosha Police Department in August. On Tuesday, US prosecutors announced that no charges would be filed against the officer or any other law enforcement officials present during the shooting. Decision was based on evidence that was not captured on the widely shared cellphone footage.
