Sunrisers Hyderabad made the second-biggest buy in Indian Premier League history, at the IPL 2024 Auction, on Tuesday. The franchise purchased Australia's 2023 World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins for ⁹20.50 crores. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians began the bidding.

Mitchell Starc has smashed Pat Cummins' record for highest-paid IPL player. Starc was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for $4.42 million. Cummins broke his own record of $3.67 million earlier in the night. Josh Hazlewood and Steve Smith went unsold.

Pat Cummins has become the highest-paid player in the history of the Indian Premier League auction. Harry Brook and Chris Woakes picked up deals worth just under £400,000. David Warner, Mitch Marsh, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis have already been retained by their existing franchises and won't feature in the auction. The auction begins at 6.30pm AEDT, and will be broadcast live from Coca Cola Arena in Dubai.

Rudy Giuliani must pay more than $148m in damages to two former Georgia election workers. He falsely accused them of helping to rig the 2020 election against Donald Trump. Jury found Giuliani owes the workers roughly $73m for reputational and emotional harm. Also ordered to pay $75m (£59m) as punishment for his conduct.

A group of students from Queen’s University has submitted a science experiment that is out of this world. Their experiment will be conducted on the International Space Station. It aims to examine the effect microgravity has on plant proteins.

Britain's Prince Harry was awarded 140,600 pounds (around $180,700) on Friday. The prince had sued Mirror Group Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mirror. The judge ruled that 15 out of the 33 articles were the product of phone hacking or other illegal means.

The High Court in London ruled that Harry was a victim of unlawful information gathering. The judge sided with the UK royal on 15 of the 33 articles in the lawsuit. Harry, along with other U.K. celebrities, brought the suit against Mirror Group Newspapers.
