Brazilian murderer and formerly escaped convict (born 1989)

Danilo Souza Cavalcante, also incorrectly referred to as Danelo in court records and by media outlets, is a Brazilian national accused of murder in the Brazilian state of Tocantins and convicted murderer in the US state of Pennsylvania. He escaped from the Chester County Prison on August 31, 2023, and was apprehended on September 13, 2023, after a 14-day manhunt by police. Born in Maranhão, Cavalcante fled to the United States after Brazilian authorities issued a warrant for his arrest in Tocantins in 2017 in connection with the shooting death of Valter Júnior Moreira dos Reis, a Brazilian student.
