personBruce Lehrmann’s retrial over the alleged rape of Brittany Higgins has been aborted. Director of Public Prosecutions Shane Drumgold said it was no longer in the public interest to continue because of the risk to Higgins’ life. The first trial was cut short on October 27 after 12 days of hearing evidence and submissions in the ACT Supreme Court. The story first broke after Higgins went public with her allegations in early 2021.
